In 1984 Rural Literacy and Health Programme (RLHP) was registered as a Non-Governmental Organization under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960. It was the coming together of a group of dedicated and like-minded people. The motivating factor was their concern for and desires to make a difference to the lives of the underprivileged, disadvantaged and deprived sections of society. RLHP is governed by a board of Management. It operates in 56 slums
and 25 villages in Mysore, Mandya & Chamarajanagar districts of Karnataka State in South India
covering a population of 50,000. |
